Introduction: Red Clover [Trifolium pratense (L.)] widely distributes in Europe, the British Isles, China and many other countries. It is one of the world¡¯s oldest agricultural crops, widely cultivated as a fodder crop and as a source of hay for cattle horses and sheep. It has long been used in Western herbal traditions as a "blood purifier". Chemical Composition: Red Clover Powdered Extract mainly contains a group of compounds called isoflavones, in particular a number of isoflavones that are also found in kudzu and soy. However its isoflavones level is tenfold that of soy. In addition to the soy isoflavones genistein and daidzein, red clover provides two additional estrogenic isoflavones not found in soy - biochanin A and formononetin. The red clover extract from Phytoway Inc. was standardized to contain the following isoflavones: Ononin (formononetin -7-glucoside), Sissotrin (biochanin-7-glucoside), Formononetin and Biochanin A.
